Hare Notes: 2011 is already 1/3 over, so it’s about time for the Dutch Treat Hash to finally start running again. Please join us for an Easter Egg Hunt and BBQ in Leidschendam to celebrate spring and the DTH3 5th Anniversary. We’ll fire up the grill for an early dinner, so bring along something for your family. Directions:

By car: Click here for Google Map. Take N14 towards Leidschendam. After going through a tunnel (or 2), turn Left on Noordsingel. Take a Right onto Dillenburgsingel and first Left onto Boslaan. Go about 100 meters and you’ll see the entrance to the back side of the Shell station on your left. When you get to this point, you’ll see our garage on the right (with two blue canoes in front). There’s parking for several cars. If the driveway is full, turn around and take the 1st left into the parking lot. Park and walk around to our green fence. Call (070) 317-5063 if you’re lost.

By public transport: It’s a 10-minute walk from the end point of Tram #2 or the Weikamp stop for Bus #45. Let us know if you’re coming by tram or bus and we’ll set trail to the start.

Hare Notes: Hashing to the International Kite Festival was such a success last year, that we’ve decided to use the event as an excuse to try to recruit some new hashers from the American Women’s Club members. We’ve also invited the Hague Hash along, so we’ll do a kid’s trail, an adult’s trail and a separate walking trail. Afterwards, we’ll go back to the clubhouse for dinner.

Where: Bicycle Club De Spartaan in Rijswijk at Lange Kleiweg 116

Directions:Public Transportation: From Centraal Station, catch train on track #1 towards Rosendaal at 13:58. Get off at Rijswijk at 14:09. Catch bus #130 towards Delft at 14:14. Get off at 14:18 at TNO/Lange Kleiweg. Quick 4 minute walk to sports club. Consult www.92920v.nl for other options.

Car: Take A12 (Utrechtsebaan). Head towards A4 direction Rijswijk / Rotterdam, then A4 direction Rijswijk / Den Haag Zuid / Hoek van Holland. Take Exit 10: Plaspoelpolder. At traffic lights, go Right. Attraffic lights, go Left onto Veraartlaan. At next traffic lights, go straight. At end of road, go Left onto Lange Kleiweg. Across the viaduct, on your right hand side, you will first see a hockeyclub, and then the bicycle club.

Hare Notes: Yesterday's hash was so great (photos to be uploaded on website soon), that we want to get right back out and hash some more! Plan on bringing Frisbees or other small lawn toys so the kids can play while we're snacking on the terrace after the run. Please RSVP by email.

When: Sunday, September 27th at 13:00 (pack off at 13:30--note earlier start time due to allowing plenty of time afterwards to enjoy Kite Festival)

Hare Notes: Please join us for the first hash of the fall. We’ll try to keep the trail short so we can spend much of the afternoon on the beach enjoying the 31st International Kite Festival.

Directions: Public Transportation: Catch either Tram 1 or 9 from Den Haag Centraal and take to the end of the line

Car: Parking will likely be difficult due to the nice weather and festival. Drive at your own risk!

Hare Notes: Please join us as we bid a fond farewell to our favorite hare, Trust the Suit, and his family as they prepare to move back to the UK. There will be tea and cake served afterwards at their house.

What: DTH3 #21 – Weapons of Mass Distraction Hash in Den Haag

When: Sunday, June 8, 2008 at 14:00 (pack off at 14:30)

Where: Public car park on Oude Waalsdorperweg, Den Haag. This road runs off the N440 to the NATO and TNO office buildings.

Hare Notes: The run leaves from behind the NATO building near a rifle range! Please come dressed as or carry your favourite weapon, from pop guns to satellites, lasers to tasers, and anything in between. We’ll head off into the dunes to search for weapons of mass distraction. We'll end back at the car park with snacks and refreshments. No need to bring anything but the usual good sense of humor. There will be hidden prizes for children in the dunes along the run!!

Directions:

By public transport: You can get near the NATO building on Bus 23 from Den Haag-Laan van NOI train station or Bus 22 from Centraal Station. Go to www.9292ov.nl to find your best route to Oude Waalsdorperweg 61. Either route will include a walk, so check out the below map. Follow below directions once you get to roundabout.

By car: Click here for a map. The N440 is dug up for the new tunnel, but you can still enter Oude Waalsdorperweg. As you head away from Van Alkemadalan, take the funky Left-Right turn into the N440 to head north, and then take the exit immediately after the temporary roundabout into the NATO zone (the start of Oude Waalsdorperweg). Turn Left at the fork, then make your way around the back of the NATO building. Look for the public car park on your Left at the end of the road before you hit the dunes. Look for hare’s blue Honda Shuttle.

Hare Notes: Let’s celebrate Dutch and American Mother’s Day with a run at the beach in Scheveningen. We’ll end with dinner on the beach. The hare will supply BBQ and drinks. Please bring something to share.

By public transport: To avoid dealing with parking at the beach, consider taking a tram. From Den Haag Centraal take Tram 9 towards Scheveningen to the end of the line; the 14:44 tram will arrive at 14:59. From Holland Spoor take Tram 1 towards Scheveningen to the end of the line; the 14:39 tram will arrive at 15:01.
